Owned by the UK’s second largest airport operator, the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), received a major boost when the Government published its Aviation White Paper in 2003.
MAG, which has been calling on the Government to support the responsible growth of regional airports, welcomed the announcement.
MAG summarised the Governments decision as:
- Good news for the local economy
- Good news for employees with more jobs created in a range of industries
- Good news for passengers with more destinations and a greater frequency of flights from local airports
- Good news for the UK regions ensuring local people and local business have better access to air services.
